LRT To Subang Jaya

A very Good afternoon to fellow residents and guests present this afternoon.

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dato Idrose and his team, who have come here to provide us the information on the LRT route extension into Subang Jaya. I also like to thank Dato Sri Ong Tee Keat, who take personal interest to be with us this afternoon, to hear and listen to the views of Subang Jaya residents .

This afternoon's get-together and briefing to our community would not have materialized, if not for the support and efforts of the leaders of various community organizations. Thank you for coming together to make it happen.

The idea of having this briefing and dialogue started when I was approached by few residents in May. They wew very anxious to know more about the actual LRT routes in Subang Jaya since they have been hearing several versions of the proposed route and very confused. While the LRT extensioninto Subang Jaya is much awaited, it is only human nature to wonder how this is going to be achieved in Subang Jaya, which is such a mature township with so little open space left for massive development projects. And of course, while the majority will benefit from the availability of LRT to ease our transportation and traffic problems, there are naturally, many anxious residents who are worried how the LRT will affect their property, lives and even livelihood.

Responding to the residents' request, I made several attempts to meet Dato Sri Ong Tee Keat and Dato Idrose on this matter to work out an acceptable plan to provide some early information, such as a prelude to the public display. Indeed, nothing beats hearing from the source itself - Sykt Prasarana. Although I understand this afternoon's session does not mean that the route details is 100% finalised.

I thank both of them for their response in acceding to the need of Subang Jaya residents and I am glad that both of them are now with us this afternoon. I also hope we can all work together in future, to have more community projects of this nature to serve the interests of all residents in Subang Jaya - our Kampong!

I also want to take this opportunity to thank the MC Ms Eileen Cheah, and Moderator Mr. Raymond Tan, who have consented to help out during this event. My appreciation too to Mr. Robert Chan for helping to send out emails and sms to the members of SJ Alert, and many others whom in one way or another, have help to make this event a success; not forgetting volunteers from MCA Kelana Jaya.

Fellow residents, I wish you a most informative and productive session ahead. I hope you will take the opportunity during question time to ask related questions for everybody's benefit.

Thank you.

.

  2. Jess,Welcome to My Views. Are you a resident in Subang Jaya/USJ?

LRT is coming, the route will put up for Public Display before it wll be finalised, most probably in September.

At this moment, the proposed routes will start from Kelana Jaya LRT station to Subang Depot near old airport road. Then it will have a park and ride station at Glomac (near Subang Golf Club), from there LRT comes to KTM station near SJ Carrfour(another park and ride station); pass through Subang Parade and Wisma Consplant, have a stop at SS15 and SS18 before it goes to Kesas Highway and have park and ride facilities at USJ7 (just after Summits Hotel), another stop at USJ14/USJ15, final stop at Taipan 2( a park and ride station) before it goes to Shah Alam and Putra Height.

I hope my brief information will give you a picture of the proposed route.

  3. What is the role of MCA Kelana Jaya in this LRT project? Are you now acting on behalf of Transport Ministry?

  4. Dear Eddie,
MCA Kelana Jaya is not acting on behalf of Transport Ministry neither do we have the capacity to act on behalf.

I have been resident in this township since it was developed, it was the 'gracious living' concept which attracted me to purchase my first house in SS15. I'm now also a Deputy President of 1 RA in USJ and I take personal intertest in the development of this township.

I will continue to participate in whatever way I could to assist in the LRT issue. Thank you.
