Dear Madam Ong, I noted the results on 8th March, 2008 was too shocking and too hard for most of the BN leaders to accept but the leaders had been quite quick in responding to the challenges. However, the issues on MCA leaders were adding salt on the wounds of the Urban City MCA leaders as more educated voters in the cities will condemn the ways things were going on amongst the senior MCA leaders, former MCA President Ong Ka Ting tried to return but was shown the door of exit, the immediate past President of MCA acted as if he was the ONLY hero over the PKFZ scandals, and in Malaysian History, the very first TUn was indicted in the PKFZ Scandal, leading to perceptions of the public on the dishonest MCA leaders were exposed. Not to mention Chew Mei Fun declared if the current MCA President were to elected, she will quit, and Chew Mei Fun quit! I heard the current MCA Wanita Chief is still not closing rank with MCA President. MCA had shown Malaysians great excitements on the politics, but the facts remained: Will voters be happy with what PR had governed in Penang, Kedah, Selangor and Kelantan? Several by-elections had produced positive results for BN in the most recent 2 by-elections, many had predicted and guessed on the possibility that 13th GE to be held early March next year. If the guess of 13th GE is accurate, then BN coming convention on 5/12/2010 will provide enough signals, personally I doubt this will happen. PKR with Zaid's issue caused some damages but we do not have great hopes on major changes on PKR. The true power still belongs to those rural voters. The competitions are for those rural voters, and as their children were well exposed in the major towns and cities, their children will continue to provide data/information that is not available in the mainstream media. The virtual media had caused greatest surprises to the 12th GE on 8th March, 2008. I obvious excuses or reasons given by PR over many issues were hinged around messes inherited from previous BN state governments, but it is also because of the messes that caused the voters to vote for PR instead of BN. Now PR had tasted power and positions for more than 2 and half years, I believe the voters are tired of listening to the reasons and excuses of what was caused by BN, the needs of voters are REAL and need to be solved. So, unless MCA recognized this and work harder to help the voters so that the voters could appreciate, I as a PJU voter had NOT seen Chew Mei Fun and Victor GU in our ares for more than 2 and half years too. WE will decide and we will not be pleased to be left as it is.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Peter Leow for taking time to write your thought.
ReplyDeleteI fully understand what you have said. We will continue to work.
My late eldest brother Mr yew Ting was Batu Division MCA Chairman in 1980's and he vacated his eat to allow Tan Chai Ho to be elevated, and my late brother was serving the public, and he was well respected, though he passed away in 1994 at the young age of 44 years old plus, he was truly the working politicians in the 80's. Ong Tee Keat was just a University Student, 2 years my senior in MU. In 1999, I was delighted that young lady who is only 36 years old, Chew Mei Fun offered herself to serve us as PJU MP, despite Vincent Lim was lucky to have a walk over from Dr Kua before this 1999 November Election, Chew Mei Fun had convinced me that she will be the right MP for us, and she won, and serve very diligently for next 4 years, and soon she was showing her ability, she climbed in her political career, she became the Parliamentary Sectary after victory in 2004, and she became MCA Wanita Chief,,, but sadly she had almost forgotten us who had supported her as she was really busy on the national affairs, and our neighbours had been complaining to me as they assumed that I had good contact with her, I was seeing the so called Political Tsunami, I wrote very aggressive and urgent e mails to Chew Mei Fun, cautioned her that voters are very upset, and realizing she will lose and keep sending her reminders to consider to opt for 'safer seat' she refused, and after her nasty accident in Gambang in December, 2007, she imagined she could be retained, this time by as early as 7 PM on the 8th March 2008 counting centre, she knew she lost terribly. That goes for Lee Hwa Beng, 4 years my senior in TIKL, he was very sore despite I consoled him. Dear Madam, Pride is what I noticed on MCA leaders, and I guess with power, nobody could be as humble as before, all powerful people will exhibit such proudness, and soon, the pride will bring them all down.Being a politician, truly as a good politician like my late eldest brother in no longer available, and I trust to serve and to be sincere in helping the needy people, then you will excel in being a politician, otherwise, your offer to serve is meaningless. I hope the so called transformation is on superficial, but I pray the life long learning project could be revived or else MCA may end up worse than 8th March, 2008 come the 13 th GE. MY two cents worth of views.
